Securnet supports services in the community
IMS Health’s secure private network, Securnet, is being used by a growing number of primary care trusts to support the efficient delivery of new or improved services in their communities. In Croydon, patients with blood conditions can now have them monitored in community pharmacies with Securnet links to their records at the local Mayday Hospital, so medication changes can be made and recorded immediately.

Benefit from Securnet: Securnet connections to N3 are available for all independent healthcare contractors. For example, NHS Milton Keynes has successfully deployed Securnet connections to dental practices so they can use Choose and Book, both to refer patients and to provide enhanced services. As an additional benefit, practices’ commercial internet communications and transactions go through the same connection, instead of having to use NHS internet gateways.
