VEGA - Delivering Human Performance Improvement
The NHS Improvement Plan recognises the fundamental role that e-learning
has to play in developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes of
its workforce. It provides access to and distribution of standardised
learning programmes to enable staff to fit learning around front
line commitments.
VEGA is an independent programme and system assurance company,
with over a decade's experience of delivering blended learning solutions
to match an organisation's specific development requirement. These
are delivered by the most effective channel, be it CD/DVD, Internet,
Intranet or mobile devices. Our learning modules are SCORM conformant
and our e-learning team is accredited by both the BLA and IITT.

Free software with the
PSO's PRINCE2 & MSP courses
The PSO has been running PRINCE2TM and MSP courses for many years
for the NHS and its partners. We believe we have got to know your
requirements quite well - A relaxing yet accessible training location,
additional free software and supporting templates are some of the
items we have introduced to help you enjoy and apply the training.
PRINCE2
We now offer delegates to our PRINCE2 courses the option of free
software to help them apply PRINCE2 to their own projects - its
so good we use it ourselves!
MSP
Do you fancy sitting three exams in a week - if not you should like
our special split course approach to MSP training to ease the pressure
in what would be an otherwise intensive week - our delegates love
it - it gives them time to catch up and network during the course.
We designed a Health Informatics Case Study to help MSP programme
management come alive for our NHS delegates.
PRINCE2TM is a trademark of The Office of Government Commerce.

XML in Healthcare,
27-28 July at Wadham College, Oxford
This two-day course surveys XML and other
related open standards, including HL7, that are being applied to
the management and exchange of information in healthcare. We focus
on how XML can be used as the core technology in patient-centred
health records systems, implemented in local, regional and national
architectures. We show how XML provides key advantages for shared
care systems, where information is exchanged across traditional
boundaries of the caring professions, including its role in clinical
governance. This is combined with practical feedback on the real-life
application of XML in the NHS in England and around the world.
After taking this course you will understand:
- How XML can be applied to the management and exchange of information
in healthcare
- The role of other related open standards
- The key components of a full patient-centred, shared care system
- Architectures that can be implemented on local, regional and
national scale
- How XML is being used in the National Programme for IT in the
NHS in England
- Where XML-based systems are being adopted around the world
